1. Acceptance

By using FinPin ("app"), you agree to these terms. If you disagree, don't use the app.

2. Service Description

FinPin is an expense tracking application that:

• Records financial transactions locally on your device
• Processes receipt images using OCR technology
• Syncs data via iCloud (optional)
• Integrates with custom API endpoints (optional)
• Supports Siri Shortcuts and iOS automation

3. Data Ownership

You own your data. We don't store your financial information on our servers.

• All expense data is stored locally on your device
• iCloud sync is handled by Apple, not us
• Custom API integrations are your responsibility
• We cannot access your financial data

4. Custom API Servers

You may configure custom API endpoints:

• You are responsible for your API server security
• We don't control or monitor your API endpoints
• API failures are not our responsibility
• Ensure your APIs comply with applicable laws

5. Third-Party Services

The app may use:

• Exchange rate APIs for currency conversion
• Apple's iCloud for data synchronization
• Apple's Siri and Shortcuts framework

These services have their own terms and privacy policies.

6. Prohibited Use

You may not:

• Reverse engineer the app
• Use the app for illegal activities
• Redistribute the app

7. Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" without warranties. We are not liable for:

• Data loss or corruption
• Financial decisions based on app data
• Third-party service failures
• Custom API server issues

8. Limitation of Liability

Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app. We are not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

9. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time. We may terminate service for violations of these terms.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use constitutes acceptance of changes.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of your jurisdiction.

12. Service Discontinuation

Effective July 25, 2026, FinPin will permanently cease all official platform operations and cloud services. The following terms apply:

• Official services discontinued: All FinPin-hosted infrastructure will be shut down, including the official receipt parsing API, multi-currency exchange rate APIs, all Cloudflare Workers backend infrastructures, official open-source serverless API endpoints and corresponding technical support, all web-based functions, Siri Shortcuts relying on official cloud services, and all official technical support, software updates and bug fixes.
• App Store Removal: The FinPin application will be permanently removed from the Apple App Store on the Sunset Date. New downloads and reinstallations will no longer be available.
• Self-Hosted / Third-Party Interface Exception: Users may continue to use custom OpenAI/Anthropic-compatible API connections within the FinPin app after the service sunset. This functionality is not part of FinPin's official platform services. The availability, stability and security of third-party API connections are solely the responsibility of the relevant third-party providers. Users who configure third-party connections do so at their own discretion and sole responsibility.
• Local Functionality: As long as the app remains installed, fully local features (expense recording, CSV import/export, local statistics, custom tags, iCloud sync) will continue to function independently without relying on FinPin official cloud services. These features may be affected by future iOS updates; no compatibility or maintenance updates will be provided.
• Data Responsibility: Since all user data is stored locally on the device, users are solely responsible for exporting and retaining their data before the Sunset Date. FinPin is not liable for any data loss resulting from failure to export data prior to the Sunset Date.
• Open-Source API: The open-source serverless API code will remain publicly available on GitHub under its existing license for independent user deployment, with no official maintenance or support provided by FinPin.
• Post-Sunset Warranty Disclaimer: After the Sunset Date, the app is provided "as is" without any warranties, support, or updates of any kind. Use of the app after the Sunset Date is at the user's own risk.
