FinPin is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your financial data stays on your device.

3. Local Data Storage

All your financial data is stored locally on your device:

• Expense records
• Categories and tags
• Custom settings

Nobody can access these data.

4. iCloud Sync

If you enable iCloud sync:

• Data syncs between your Apple devices
• Apple handles the encryption and storage
• Nobody have access to your iCloud data

5. Custom API Servers

If you configure custom open-source API endpoints:

• You control what data is sent
• We don't monitor or log API communications

6. Network Usage

The app only uses network for:

• Fetching current exchange rates
• Communicating with your custom APIs (if configured)
• App Store updates and purchases

No personal financial data is transmitted.

7. Third-Party Services

Nothing.

8. Analytics

We may collect anonymous usage statistics:

• App crashes and errors
• Feature usage (without personal data)
• Device type and OS version

This data cannot be linked to you personally.

9. Permissions

The app may request:

• Camera - for receipt photos
• Photos - to access receipt images
• Location - to tag expenses with location (todo, optional)
• Siri - for voice commands

You can revoke these permissions anytime in iOS settings.

10. Data Retention

Since data is stored locally:

• You control how long data is kept
• Deleting the app removes all local data
• iCloud data follows Apple's retention policies

11. Children's Privacy

FinPin is a productivity and finance tool suitable for ages 4 and up. The app is designed to be safe for children to use under parental supervision. We do not collect any personal data from users of any age, as all data processing occurs locally on the device.

12. Changes

We may update this policy. Significant changes will be communicated through the app.

13. Service Discontinuation & Data Handling

FinPin will permanently cease all official platform operations and cloud services on July 25, 2026. The following describes how data is handled during and after the service discontinuation:

• No personal data collected: FinPin has never collected, stored, transmitted, or processed any user personal data or personally identifiable information on FinPin official servers. All expense data has always been stored exclusively on users' local devices.
• No server-side user data exists: FinPin holds zero user data and has no server-side data to delete, archive, or process.
• No data breach risk: Since no user personal data is retained by FinPin, FinPin's service termination presents no data breach risk involving user personal data.
• Local data remains under user control: After the Sunset Date, all data stored locally on the device remains fully accessible to the user. Users may export, retain, or delete this data at their discretion.
• iCloud Sync Disclaimer: iCloud synchronization is managed independently by Apple and governed by Apple's privacy policies. FinPin does not access, store, or control any iCloud user data.
• Analytics data: Any anonymous, aggregated usage statistics (if collected) will cease being collected upon the Sunset Date. This data cannot be linked to any individual user and will not be transferred or sold to any third party.
• GDPR compliance: Since FinPin collects and processes no personal data, the data-related rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) — including access, rectification, erasure, and portability — are inherently satisfied. Users retain full control of their data through the app's local export and deletion features.
• CCPA/CPRA compliance: Since no personal information is collected or sold, the data-related obligations under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) are inherently satisfied. No personal information exists to delete, correct, or opt out of.
