FinPin is Sunsetting
Effective July 25, 2026
After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to permanently discontinue FinPin. We are deeply grateful for your support and trust throughout this journey.
Service Sunset Notice
Effective Date: July 25, 2026
What This Means
FinPin will permanently cease all official platform operations and cloud services on July 25, 2026. After this date, all official FinPin-hosted infrastructure and web-based services will be fully shut down.
The following official services will be permanently discontinued:
- Official FinPin receipt parsing API and all backend parsing services
- Multi-currency exchange rate conversion APIs and related official data services
- All Cloudflare Workers backend infrastructures maintained by FinPin
- Official open-source serverless API endpoints and corresponding official technical support
- All web-based functions, official platform services and backend capabilities provided by the FinPin official website
- Siri Shortcuts that rely on FinPin's official cloud services
- Official technical support, software updates and bug fixes
The FinPin application will be permanently removed from the Apple App Store on the effective date. New downloads and reinstallations will no longer be available.
User Self-Hosted / Custom Third-Party Interface
Users may continue to use custom OpenAI/Anthropic-compatible API connections within the FinPin app after the service sunset. This functionality relies entirely on third-party service providers and user self-configured interfaces, and is not part of FinPin's official platform services.
The availability, stability and security of third-party API connections are solely the responsibility of the relevant third-party providers. Users who configure third-party API connections do so at their own discretion and sole responsibility.
Persistent Local App Features
As long as the FinPin app remains installed on your device, the following fully local features will continue to function independently without relying on FinPin official cloud services:
- Local expense recording and manual editing
- Offline CSV file import and export
- Local statistics and data analytics
- Custom user-defined tags and payment methods
- iCloud sync functionality (managed solely by Apple, independent of FinPin's official services)
Note: These features may be affected by future iOS updates. No compatibility or maintenance updates will be provided after the sunset date.
Recommended User Actions
To preserve access to your records, please take the following steps before the service termination date:
- Export your local data: Navigate to FinPin → Settings → Export to CSV, and save the file to a secure local location. See detailed instructions below.
- Back up local Siri Shortcuts for personal reference.
- Retain the installed application if you wish to continue using local features and custom third-party API capabilities. Re-download will not be possible after sunset.
- Self-hosted open-source code remains publicly available on GitHub for independent user deployment and use, with no official maintenance or support provided by FinPin.
Your Privacy & Data Compliance
Privacy protection is the core design principle of FinPin. We have never collected, stored, transmitted, or processed any user personal data or personally identifiable information on FinPin official servers.
- No server-side user data exists: All expense data is stored exclusively on users' local devices. FinPin holds zero user data and has no server-side data to delete, archive, or process.
- No data breach risk: Since no user personal data is retained by FinPin, FinPin's service termination presents no data breach risk involving user personal data.
- iCloud Sync Disclaimer: iCloud synchronization is managed independently by Apple and governed by Apple's privacy policies. FinPin does not access, store, or control any iCloud user data.
- Global regulatory compliance (GDPR/CCPA): Since FinPin collects and processes no personal data, the data-related rights under GDPR and CCPA are inherently satisfied — users retain full control of their data through the app's local export and deletion features.
We sincerely thank every user for your trust and long-term support of FinPin. We are deeply grateful for all user feedback and community engagement. While we are unable to continue operating official platform services, we hope FinPin has brought convenience to your daily expense management.
For complete legal terms, please refer to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. After the sunset date, the app is provided without any warranties, support, or updates. Use of the app after the sunset date is at the user's own risk.

How to Export
- Step 1: Open FinPin on your iOS device
- Step 2: Go to Settings
- Step 3: Tap Export to CSV
- Step 4: Choose a destination (Files, iCloud Drive, or share to another app)
- Step 5: Verify the exported file contains all your records
Tip: Export your data in CSV format for maximum compatibility with spreadsheet applications and other expense tracking tools.
